Sponsoring Roots2Harvest Foundation means investing directly in Birmingham's food sovereignty, community health, and economic resilience. Every dollar and every resource grows something real.
Birmingham is 70% food desert. Chronic disease and food insecurity overlap in our communities at alarming rates. Roots2Harvest Foundation is doing the long-term, science-backed work to change that through education, entrepreneurship pathways, and community-led research.
Your sponsorship directly funds seeds, tools, wages, educational materials, research activities, and the infrastructure that makes our programs possible. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (status pending), and your contribution supports a mission, not a margin.
Your investment stays in Birmingham and directly serves the communities that need it most.
Our work is grounded in research, measurement, and evidence where we track what works and share what we learn.
We work with communities, not for them. Every program is built in partnership with the people it serves.
We are building infrastructure, research capacity, and economic pathways that will outlast any single season.
Align your company's mission with a community-rooted nonprofit doing measurable work in Birmingham. Corporate sponsors receive recognition in our programming materials, social media, website, and annual reports. We welcome multi-year partnerships and are happy to work with your CSR team to structure an agreement that meets your reporting needs.
Benefits include: Logo placement, program naming opportunities, employee volunteer days at our garden sites, speaking opportunities at community events, and impact reports.
Individual giving is the backbone of community nonprofits. Whether you give $25 or $2,500, your contribution directly funds seeds, tools, wages, and programming. One-time and recurring gifts are both welcome. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law (501(c)(3) status pending).
Donate goods, services, or materials that support our operations and programs. We currently have active needs for: garden tools and supplies, soil and compost, lumber and building materials for raised beds, irrigation supplies, seeds and transplants, food and supplies for community events, printing and design services, and professional services (legal, accounting, photography).
In-kind donations are valued and documented. We will work with donors to provide appropriate acknowledgment and valuation letters for tax purposes.
Sponsor a specific community event, workshop, or programming series. Event sponsors receive prominent recognition at the event, in promotional materials, and across our social media channels. Events include our monthly Community Education Series, seasonal harvest celebrations, wellness workshops, and skill-share sessions.
Great for: Businesses looking for visible, community-facing brand placement in the Birmingham area.
Sponsor a dedicated raised garden bed at one of our community sites. Your bed will bear your name or your organization's name for the season. Sponsors receive seasonal harvest updates, photos from their bed, and an invitation to participate in planting and harvest activities. Proceeds from bed sponsorships fund direct community food access and programming.
Perfect for: Individuals, families, small businesses, or teams who want a tangible, visible connection to where their support goes.
We actively seek academic institutions, hospitals, public health organizations, and research agencies as partners in our community-based participatory research initiatives. Our current research focus is urban soil restoration for agricultural safety in Birmingham, with planned expansion into preventative medicine research in partnership with UAB. Research partnerships may include co-PI arrangements, grant collaborations, data sharing agreements, and community access for research purposes.
Note: Research partnerships involving grant funding require our 501(c)(3) determination letter. We are actively pursuing this status and welcome conversations now.
Every dollar grows something. Your donation directly supports seeds, tools, wages, research, and the programming that keeps our communities connected to the land.
